In accessories clothing cute fashion feminine fashion floral Lilly Pulitzer neon NYC shopping Target

Lilly Pulitzer x Target

I'm not normally one to get so excited for Target collaborations, but the Lilly Pulitzer x Target collab is SPOT ON for everything I want to wear to the beach this summer. Lilly is one of those designers that the collegiate-southern-belle in me loves, but cannot usually justify buying because her collections are mainly filled with things I would only wear when vacationing somewhere tropical or tailgating my alma matter's football game
(Read as: not very often. Or certainly not often enough to spend $150 on a pair of shorts).

The Lilly x Target collection officially launches on April 19th, but you can still check out the lookbook online HERE, or browse all the things I'm going to buy for (fingers crossed) the 25th birthday trip I'm hoping to take...

In clothing cute fashion kate spade neon NYC OOTD outfit of the day pink shopping south by soho SOUTHbySOHO summer what I wore

Never Ending Summer

Holy Moly September is here already! So naturally it's over 90 degrees in NYC, by far the hottest day this summer. Well bring it on I say! I'm gonna ride this lovely summer-fall train as long as long as I can.

DRESS: STUDIO 15 c/o + NECKLACE: BEVELLO (old - IDENTICAL HERE for only $15!) +
BRACELET: MICHAEL KORS + WEDGES: MICHAEL KORS "DAMITA" (on sale!) + PURSE: KATE SPADE COBBLE HILL (sold out in Grace Blue but available in new fall colors - I love the Highrise gray color)

I love buying from companies that value giving back, and Studio 15 is my newest fave. For every purchase, Studio 15 donates money to aid women in third world countries starting their own businesses. And get a load of this dress! I was so excited when their Creative Director Jia asked me to model it on the blog.

Since shift dresses don't cinch at the waist, I like to draw attention to two other areas when styling them: (1) my neck and (2) my legs! It's a great opportunity to go bold with the biggest statement necklace you've got. As for shoes, I always always try to wear heels with my shift dresses, even if that means my favorite comfy wedges. Since shift dresses aren't skin tight, you can generally get away with wearing them shorter than most other dresses in your closet, and when paired with heels your legs look skyscraper long! Cheers to that.

In accessories fashion holidays nail art nail polish nails neon NYC nyc pride parade OOTD south by soho SOUTHbySOHO summer what I wore white

Pride

Sunday was the NYC Pride Parade and Manhattan became a magical rainbow-filled land of happiness (unless you were trying to cross 5th Avenue anywhere in the city- best of luck with that). In addition to what I wore, I thought I'd share some snapshots from the day:
Above: a very excited (and sweaty) flower-power child, the Dykes on Bikes motorcycle gang, and the world's greatest feather headdress.

Clockwise from top: the best Delta flight attendant you've never had, some excited-looking pleebs, the world's cutest boys and girls scouts promoting equality for the Boy Scouts of America, and ABS.
There were so many abs kids.

Also above- half the freaking cast of Orange Is The New Black, which makes sense since Laverne Cox was the grand marshal of the parade this year. But that doesn't explain why Poussey was real excitedly pointing at us... no big deal.

TANK: J. CREW + SHORTS: AMERICAN APPAREL + BAG: DOUNEY&BOURKE  VINTAGE THRIFT + SANDALS: AMERICAN EAGLE (old) + MUSTACHE NECKLACE: URBAN OUTFITTERS (sold out, SIMILAR)

NAIL POLISHES: ESSIE (Pastels) + URBAN OUTFITTERS (Bolds) + AMERICAN APPAREL (Neons)

For the parade, I decided to go with an all white ensemble to show off some rainbow accents! (Proof you don't need to own rainbow clothing to dress thematically). This outfit was easily put together by painting my nails in all my favorite shades (I mixed it up with pastels on one hand and brights on the other) and painting rainbow war paint using acrylic paint I already had in my bottomless craft drawer. Face painting tip: if you squirt little dabs of paint on the back of your hand, like I usually do when painting my face, try this tip- rub a bit of lip balm over the back of your hand before squirting your little paint blobs on it, then when you scoop the paint up with your brush, it will get mixed with the balm just a little bit and won't dry out as much or crack on your face. This also coats your hand so wiping the excess paint off is a breeze.

Neon in the Neighborhood

Back from a beautiful May wedding and feeling fine! (Look out for a What to Wear to Summer Weddings post coming soon) Time for another classic, jeans and a tshirt tooling-around-the-city outfit, spiced up by one of my new favorite accents- neon yellow!

Neon yellow is great in surprising details on outfits- just make sure to keep the rest of the ensemble basic, so you don't come off radioactive.

SHIRT: J CREW + CARDIGAN: ANTHROPOLOGIE (SOLD OUT- LOVE THIS ONE) +
BOOTS: DV BY DOLCE VITA (ALSO THESE)

EARRINGS: KATE SPADE + BANGLES: ALEX AND ANI + RING: ALEX AND ANI (new!) +
NAIL POLISH: ZOYA IN "THANDIE"

In clothing fashion jewelry neon NYC sales shopping south by soho SOUTHbySOHO Tory Burch weekday wishlist

Tory Burch Sale

(aka whaaat??)

If you are a semi-starving artist who covets Tory Burch, you know that Tory is NOT one for sales. So if you've been waiting and waiting for a reason to finally buy that bag or those shoes, jump on this. The 'Friends & Fans' Sale goes through this Monday and gets you 25% off with the code FRIENDLY.

Click on the pics below to check out what pieces I'm itching for:
Image Map
1. Robinson Open Dome Satchel // WHITE PURSES! So crisp, clean and classy for spring and summer. This beautiful bag is $550 but $416 with the sale (if that helps you justify it).

2. Viv Flats // Two-tone d'orsay flats with cute gold Tory Burch emblem on the side. Sold.

3. Ella Neoprene Tote (Orange) // I've been eyeing this in Bloomie's for a while now. It's actually more neon than the picture looks & it would fit everything I could hope to cart around the city this summer.

4. Veronique Short // So beachy! Anything that reminds me of Greece is automatically on my wishlist.

5. Double Wrap Logo Bracelet // A classic.

6. Audra Sandal // My what a lovely navy sandal... wait it has a block heel wrapped in intricate cut-out gold plate?? Classic with a twist is the name of the game when it comes to my shopping wishlist.

7. Lace Perforated Ring // Loving this chunky yet still delicate gold ring.

8. Ella Neoprene Tote (Pink) // Yeah... this is the same as #3. Neon pink vs. neon orange? I can't decide. That's how much I LOVE this bag. Originally $225, now $168.75

Happy Shopping!

In clothing coach fashion j crew jewelry michael kors nail polish nails neon NYC OOTD outfit of the day south by soho SOUTHbySOHO spring style blog what I wore

Shopping in Soho

Vacaytion holiday baby! When you get a lovely spring day off from work, obviously you go shopping in Soho. Here's one of my favorite shopping outfits: comfy, cute and easy to slip on and off when dashing in and out of dressing rooms.

Aritzia Baseball Tee + BR Cardigan (Similar- Now in Spring Colors) + PINK Leggings (Similar) +
Coach Boots (Similar) + MK Sicily Aviators

Tassel Necklace (Old, but I love these three affordable options)
Delicate // Geometric // Flower

MK Selma Bag + Alex & Ani Bangles + Teardrop Chandelier Earrings
(or this GREAT STEAL) + UO Nail Polish in 'Hot Tub'

What I'm loving: Urban Outfitters Nail Polish. These babies come in all of my favorite polish shades, from pale mint to HOT pink and are Essie quality at half the price- they usually run $5-6 each, but Urban is always having 2 for $8 sales on them! I actually avoid that store a bit because every time I go in, I come out with at least 4 nail polishes in tow.
